Mr Turner- Morpeth
In 2004 a Northern property developer with a distinct feeling for craftsmanship asked us to submit designs for his large home office. It was to be rather different from any of our usual furniture styles and we loved the challenge.
The style was to be as the Arts & Crafts movement from the William Morris period to complement the whole theme of their beautiful home which overlooks the historic town of Morpeth in Northumberland.
The timber used was mellow medium oak with the mortise and tenoned doors dowel pegged through the framed corners. The dowel pegs and simple door beading were in a darker contrasting oak and finished off with the most distinctive bronzed Arts & Crafts handles imported from America.
All of the practical issues of storage, filing, display were addressed carefully right down to the last detail including access to a very large matrix printer by way of two piston-lift flaps in a peninsular desktop.
